Title: Network Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring the IT networks of the College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the Network Administrator, determines network needs. Troubleshoots LAN Troubleshoots LAN infrastructure. Maintains and repairs hardware, including peripheral devices. Performs maintenance and upgrades without interrupting business workflow. Works with vendors to procure network equipment and systems. Monitors network performance and offers solutions to improve the network.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or educational equivalent

CIT or related network certification

Minimum one (1) year of networking experience

Demonstrated knowledge of Layer 1 to Layer 3 infrastructure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or CCNA/networking certification equivalent

Working knowledge of VOIP network phone administration

Knowledge of Aruba network technology

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students. Ability to practice effective communication techniques, both orally and in writing, including ability to coordinate a variety of resources in gathering information and independently answering inquiries. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with mastery of Word and Excel. A better-than-average understanding and appreciation for computer systems and technology

Rate of Pay: $48,542 - $58,300 depending on experience
