Title: Contract Bus Driver (Temporary Part-Time)

Pay Rate: $15.38/Hr          

*If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be paid on experience and the rates are $13.00 (no experience), $14.00 (6 months experience) and $15.00 (9 months experience)*.

Work Hours: work up to 30 hours per week

Position Summary: This position aims to safely deliver students to and from events, including athletic and student club functions or field trips.

Duties and Responsibilities:

100%- Operates, cleans, maintains, fuels, and inspects a 27-passenger and a 15-passenger bus. Maintains accurate records of hours of service and miles driven. Performs simple repairs to keep the buses safe and operable. Overnight travel could be a possibility. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

A valid Commercial Drivers License required; At least a high school diploma or an equivalent (GED) required. 1-2 years experience with driving with a CDL preferred. Must be 21 years of age; 1-2 years experience with driving with a CDL preferred

(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:

  1. General knowledge of bus operation, including engine, transmission, cooling systems, safety features, basic electrical and vehicle HVAC.
  2. Ability to operate a bus safely.
  3. Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws
  4. Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to diagnose mechanical knowledge.
  5. Excellent time management skills.
