The most important task of the Research Assistant will be to use statistical software to work with large datasets, including possibly health insurance claims datasets. This work will involve the cleaning and development of data files as well as using econometric and statical analysis to analyze the data. A background in statistical programming (STATA and/or R preferred) and a basic understanding of economics/econometrics is strongly encouraged. The Research Assistant is expected to have strong critical thinking and excellent writing skills to assist with drafting of manuscripts, presentations, progress reports, and grant proposals. Outlined in more detail below, responsibilities will include strategic work and tasks connected to the Zaentz Navigator tool for policymakers, learning design and implementation of Zaentz Professional Learning Academy offerings, and collaborating with Zaentz research and program staff to generate key learnings and briefs for dissemination to a broad array of audiences (policy, media, practice).&nbsp; &nbsp;Position DescriptionPolicy and Communications (connected to Zaentz Navigator) – 50%<ul><li>Initiate and coordinate partnerships and projects that bring the Navigator further into the field and into policy teams’ strategic systems-building work.</li><li>Conduct legislative research and analysis.</li><li>Draft and publish policy strategies.</li><li>Manage content and feature updates in WordPress.</li><li>In partnership with TLL designer, develop and test user toolkit.</li><li>Evaluate platform performance and report on platform analytics.</li><li>Conduct interviews, facilitate focus groups, and/or collect survey data on the Navigator’s specific impacts on systems-building work.</li><li>Support the development of written materials (briefs, op-eds, blog posts, social media content) to keep stakeholders informed, engage new users, and increase brand awareness.</li></ul>Professional Programs (connected to Zaentz Academy) – 30%<ul><li>Support planning and implementation of professional learning programs by coordinating program logistics, conducting outreach and communicating with participants, preparing participant materials, training facilitators, and following up with participants after the program.</li><li>Analyze and report on qualitative data submitted by CEEL participants and synthesize learnings about the program’s global impact.</li></ul>Strategic Communications – 20%<ul><li>Lead and support the development of reports and other evaluative materials for a variety of audiences that communicate the Zaentz Initiative’s impact on the early childhood ecosystem.</li></ul>&nbsp;This is a Term Position for one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.Basic QualificationsMinimum 3 years relevant experience.
