These are the values which have created a tradition of excellence spanning more than six decades, and which are enabling Holyoke Community College to meet today's challenges.In 2023, HCC was awarded a Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) and Human Services Workforce Development Grant. The grant is a two-year project and is focused on preparing students through tuition/fee support and paid internships to step into social service agencies as entry level human service workers. &nbsp;The grant funded role will be part of a collaborative team aimed at ensuring the success of this grant project.<ul><li>Maintain communication with senior/key staff of the project and relevant college personnel.</li></ul><ul><li>Meet weekly with Project Director regarding the continued implementation of the HCBS Grant program[AB1] .</li><li>Communicate with various HCC Staff/Departments as necessary (Human Services Department Chair, Course Instructors, etc.) purpose expanded below:</li></ul><ul><li>Human Services Department to obtain updates on team communications, and as a representative of the HSV Certificate program and HSV Certificate student needs.</li><li>Course instructors to collaborate and plan for HCBS student support.</li><li>Additional HCC essential service departments as needed to improve HCBS/HSV Certificate student support and success.</li></ul>2. Organize and Conduct Orientation events. &nbsp; 3. Maintains advising practices for HCBS/HSV grant students.<ul><li>Provide technical support to students regarding courses/program.</li><li>Provides advising to HCBS/HSV grant students.</li><li>Hold regular weekly advising hours for Level 1 students.</li><li>Meet with individual students and be available for evening/weekend meetings.</li><li>Respond to student emails and phone messages within 48 hours (or sooner if an urgent need arises).</li><li>Work with Central Advising to ensure all students are enrolled in courses.</li><li>Collaborates with HCBS/HSV Project Director and Grant Coordinator to maintain support for students by connecting students to on and off-campus services. HCC resources include, but are not limited to, the Center for Academic Support (CAPS), Writing Center, STRIVE and THRIVE Centers.</li></ul>&nbsp;4. &nbsp;Provide support to grant Project Director/Grant Coordinator in the implementation of activities for HCBS/HSV Grant.<ul><li>Manages and organizes grant data collection.</li><li>Tracks student progress and plans interventions with Project Director/Social Service Coordinator when needed.</li><li>Collaborates with Project Director, Community Partners (MHA, Gandara, JFS and other community partners), and Mass Hire as a sponsor.</li><li>Collaborates with Project Director and Outside Evaluator in the implementation of program evaluation to analyze data and compile data into reports.</li></ul>5. &nbsp; Assists Project Director in completing required reporting for HCBS/HSV Grant.a. &nbsp; Compiles and enters data into reports.b. &nbsp; Assists in writing mid-year and end-of-year Grant reports under the guidance of Project Director.6. College Service (as applicable):<ul><li>Division Meetings</li><li>HCBS/HSV Department Meetings</li><li>Presenting regionally about the HCBS/HSV Program and related programs and career tracks as requested by community organizations and educational institutions.</li><li>Native American/Indigenous People Day Committee and HCC Commencement.</li></ul>REQUIRED:&nbsp;<ul><li>Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Education Administration, or other field related to area of assignment;&nbsp;</li><li>Three (3) years’ experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include business management, program/project management, grant administration, budget development, community relations, curriculum development, education, counseling, substance abuse, non-traditional student services, or public assistance programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.</li></ul>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT:&nbsp; Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position. Part-time/MCCC Unit Position Compensation:&nbsp;$23.00/hourFunding Source:&nbsp;HCBS/HSV Grant; grant will end March, 2025 and will not be renewed.Hours: 18.5 hours/week; &nbsp;12 months per year- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
