A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. Faculty also provide academic advising and facilitate student success. Technology tools are routinely used to communicate with and support students.
Faculty participate in divisional and institutional activities related to the college’s mission, engage with communities of interest, and promote college programs.

Essential Functions:

Education, Training and Experience Required:

<li>Doctorate and higher education experience preferred.</li>

Working Conditions:

Title: Career Services Advisor

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Career Services, the Career Services Advisor provides career readiness assistance to current and prospective students, coordinates all aspects of the Student Employment Program (SEP), and serves as the main point of contact for the SEP, supports all operational areas of Career Services and assists with advancing the goals of Career Services for all Volunteer State Community College (VSCC) campuses. The advisor will also work closely with multiple college departments, faculty, staff, students, community partners and local education agencies and provide information for job opportunities to students and graduates.
Job Duties:
Promote and support the execution of all career services programming and events (career fairs and other recruiting events, employer development, etc.). Assist with managing the career management system, including responding to and troubleshooting students’ questions regarding system utilization. Coordinate all elements of the SEP: verify applicant data, determine eligibility for student employment in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid and Office of Human Resources, oversee job development in collaboration with campus and community partners. Serve as point of contact for students seeking on-campus employment opportunities. Support collaborations with dual enrollment, off-campus sites, and regional K-12 partners to promote career development and guidance for middle school and high school students. Provide individual/group career coaching to students, including career assessments, career guidance sessions, and workshops. Deliver career-related presentations to classes and student organizations. Respond to students’ and company recruiters’ questions via email or phone in a timely and professional manner and refer to the Coordinator of Career Services as needed. Oversee the daily operations of Career Services in the absence of the Coordinator and provide strategic input as requested. Assist with marketing and communication efforts related to Career Services. Research current hiring trends to facilitate students’ job search and ensure students’ resumés, interviewing skills, and professionalism adhere to employer expectations. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Two years of advising or customer service experience.

Experience working in higher education, specifically at the community college level.

Job Duties

<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics of Human Anatomy &amp; Physiology.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>

Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in biological sciences with at least nine graduate or undergraduate hours of coursework relevant to anatomy and physiology. 
</li>
<li>Master's degree with a major in biology or in a related biological sub-field and certified according to Human Anatomy and Physiology Society standards. 
</li>
<li>Professional degree in the medical sciences (M.S.N., M.D., D.O., D.C., D.V.M) and certified according to Human Anatomy and Physiology Society standards. 
</li>

<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an ever-growing student population.
