GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Ain Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CFEI) seeks a collaborative and energetic individual to oversee the day-to-day operation, management, and marketing of the Ain Center. The Sr Departmental Program Specialist will initiate activities to bolster experiential learning opportunities. They will identify educational needs of our entrepreneurial learners, and work to connect resources within the University of Rochester. They will conduct needs assessments and oversee/plan program offerings. The Sr Departmental Program Specialist will develop marketing strategies for CFEI's programs that ensure maximum engagement. They will work closely with Center leadership and supervise a Department Coordinator and student workers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of CFEI Programs and Activities (50%)
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the CFEI.
- Set appropriate goals for CFEI programs.
- Develop and execute programs including workshops, business plan competitions, and special events
- Oversee the CFEI student business incubator and student funding requests.
- Benchmark with peer institutions and monitor best practices.
- Keep current on developments in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education, and the business industry.
- Strengthen existing relationships and establish/form new, collaborative relationships with similar organizations.
- Work with advancement personnel to develop philanthropic and engagement opportunities for the CFEI.
Serve as NSF I-Corps Senior Personnel (20%)
- Oversee course coordination for the region
- Assist with recruitment of instructors, mentors, and participants for the regional cohorts and candidates for the National Teams program
- Assist with marketing to broaden awareness of the program
- Assist in the collection of data to support program reporting requirements
- Oversee post-course communication with the cohort graduates to support their growth and to discuss next steps
Marketing and Communications (10%)
- Develop digital marketing and communications for the CFEI, including management of website and promotion of programs. Function to be supported by Department Coordinator and student workers.
Management of CFEI Staff and Budgets (10%)
- Management of one staff member and student workers including recruitment, training, and providing direction.
- Oversee work of and provide direction to CFEI staff.
- Initiate search for new grants and contracts as needed.
- Consider and explore new revenue streams.
- Work directly with staff at the Simon Business School to manage and oversee budget.
Represent CFEI Across University (5%)
- Attend conferences and take part in committees and groups, act as liaison to CFEI and associated departments.
- Serve on applicable University committees and attend meetings on behalf of department.
- Attend professional meetings related to the programs and department goals.
- Serve as liaison with key departments, as necessary, and may include:
- Advancement
- Simon Business School Dean's Office Personnel
- Academic departments and Student Life as necessary
Other duties as assigned (5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required
- Master's degree preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills required
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills required
- Proficiency in program evaluation and data analysis required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment required
- Advanced budget management and financial planning expertise preferred

Pay Range
Pay Range: $70,197 - $105,295 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
