AGM Compensation range is $70,000-$85,000/year + 10% bonus potential.The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.

As an Assistant General Manager, you’ll help oversee a multi-faceted high-volume full-service restaurant, with a retail component and Wine Club program. You will help lead the way in our scratch kitchen, where we produce uniquely inspired culinary items that are thoughtfully paired with our Cooper’s Hawk wines. As a Piccolo Buco by Cooper’s Hawk Brand Ambassador, you’ll be responsible executing exceptional operations during shift execution, from the food we serve from our scratch kitchen to the Guest service we provide in our restaurant. You’ll provide Management and Hourly Team Members with leadership and development, while partnering closely with the General Manager to achieve restaurant goals and build the Wine Club Community by educating our guests on the program and inviting them to join.

What You’ll Do

  • At Piccolo Bucco all managers are responsible for total restaurant operations. All managers must be knowledgeable of our products, systems and processes. All managers are responsible for the kitchen and front of house operations.
  • Responsible for overall restaurant operations with area of responsibility (AOR) being the kitchen. Overseeing kitchen operations, with a focus on food quality, sanitation, safety and the development of the team.
  • Build and maintain Wine Club Community, by ensuring our Front of House Team Members have the training and resources needed to educate guests about our wine club program and invite them to join
  • Adhere to policies and manage assigned operating systems
  • Represent Piccolo Buco brand and values to create a respectful, positive and professional work environment
  • Manage people by:
    • Participating in hourly team member hiring both in Front of House and Kitchen
    • Training and verifying team members’ understanding of Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants
    • Reviewing and approving kitchen schedules in a timely manner
    • Developing other Managers, including all Managers
    • Doing side by sides with hourly team members
  • Lead Community meetings and coaches Managers
  • Be responsible for overseeing training for Managers in Development, Lead Restaurant Trainers and new Team Members
  • Oversee kitchen training, food execution, menu roll-outs and system initiatives
  • Conduct line checks, create prep lists, receive product to our standards, and oversee ordering and inventory management
  • Be accountable for depth of knowledge in food preparation and quality
  • Focus on service & food standards and assist General Manager with weekly inventory procedures when needed
  • Complete weekly inventory procedures when needed
  • Be responsible for maximizing financial and operational results, as well as weekly financial reporting and inventory audits with General Manager oversight
  • Effectively operate computer systems including a POS System, Online Team Member Scheduler, Inventory/Ordering software and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a team of managers. At times you will be sharing roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment and food safety
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

  • 3-4 years of management experience in a full-service restaurant environment. Scratch kitchen experience preferred
  • Experience of making or baking pizza dough would be useful in this role.
  • A minimum age requirement of 21 years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English
  • Demonstrates financial acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Is results-driven; able to coach team to hit restaurant targets (i.e. Wine Club Community growth)
  • Preferred certifications include ServSafe and state/local licensing requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 10 hours per shift
  • Must have the ability to work 50-60 hours per week
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and some holidays
  • Maintains a professional image by adhering to guidelines listed in the Team Member Handbook
